The Numbers
The Numbers series is built on simplicity. Each work strips away ornament until only form, color, and spacing remain. Red becomes the constant—sometimes dominant, sometimes retreating—while the backgrounds shift like fields of memory. The series doesn’t explain itself; it sets conditions and leaves the viewer to decide what matters.
The bold rectangles suggest order, but the logic is withheld. Uneven spacing, mismatched scales, and deliberate gaps create tension that resists resolution. These aren’t diagrams to be solved; they’re fragments of a ledger, a record of what doesn’t add up.
What remains is presence. Each piece is pared down to what cannot be removed without breaking it. The works are not about numbers, but about what numbers leave unsaid: adjacency without contact, silence as structure, imbalance as truth.
