Art Creation Process

Process

To create my artwork, I use the following process:

  1. Find or create a starting image. This usually entails looking at photographs or other digital art I have already created, or, if nothing seems to work for me, create a new starting image.

  2. Once I have the starting image I want to use, I import that image into Playground AI.

  3. When the image has been imported, I then decide how much the system should value the image in creating the artwork – the scale is from 1% to 100%.

  4. I then select the model I want to use. Those options are Stable Diffusion XL or Playground V2.

  5. Then I create the prompt I want to use. This for me is a rather short statement or a list of factors the AI system needs to use in creating the artwork I want. I can add or subtract from the prompt to get the results I am looking for.

  6. Once the prompt has been written, I decided how much weight the system should give to the prompt by using the Prompt Guidance slider function. The higher the number, the more the system will try to align with the prompt.

  7. Once the prompt is created, I select the filter I want to use. In Playground AI I have the option of using 38 filters when using Stable Diffusion XL or 23 filters if I am using Playground V2. Each filter produces different results.

  8. When I have the filter I want, then I decide what level of quality am I looking for. Usually I try to go for the highest quality I can get from the system.

  9. I then have the option to allow the system to randomize the seed, which is a nine digit number that creates variations of the created images.

  10. Next, I tell the system which sampler method to use. There are fourteen different sampler methods which will give different results. I often will go through each sampler method in creating an artwork to see which method gives me the best results.

  11. Finally, when I have an artwork that I am happy with, I upscale the images, and download it to my computer. I then use other digital tools such as Photoshop for the final processing to get my finished result.
